Government Workers Decry Health Finance Ceiling

The much-delayed Workers Medical care Finance (EHF) plan for local govt employees and pensioners has run into problems, with the would-be recipients saying the govt has no right to segment "dignified white-colored receiver employees" with people from the BPL inhabitants. Workers are mainly objecting to the Rs 2 lakh roof for therapy during medical center stay as it would put them in the same segment as the BPL classification sufferers who get therapy in business medical centers under the Aarogyasri plan. Meanwhile, personal medical center conduite too are adverse to dealing with employees and pensioners at Aarogyasri rates, declaring they would run into huge failures.

In the newest set up of therapy charges offered to the nursing homes, the methods for the EHF, which is designed to protect 8 lakh employees and 6 lakh pensioners, are much like the Aarogyasri plan. The only main distinction is that compared with the common keep therapy that is given under Aarogyasri, EHF recipients would get semi-private space or personal space based on their cadre.

However, workers are frightened that they won't get top quality proper care. "We are sensible white-colored receiver employees. In the awaken of the roof, medical centers would cure us like the BPL inhabitants. They would give us low top quality proper care, turn us away stating no mattresses or will ask us to pay money," said Padma Chary, common assistant, AP Secretariat Organization. "The health card offered by the govt should provide as a means for cashless therapy," he included.

Pensioners too hold a similar perspective. "We want the local govt to provide cashless therapy without any roof. We are awaiting the GO to be released to decide our upcoming course of action," said Panduranga Rao, common assistant, AP Condition Government Pensioners Family Well being Organization.
