Govt converted a sightless eye to CAG reviews on noon food scheme's working

Kitchen garden sheds are losing in most of the main educational institutions and the classifieds of food provided to kids are not examined by healthcare authorities. Kitchen and tools are also unclean, according to the results of the CAG on working of noon food (MDM) plan in Bihar educational institutions.

Irregularities, crime and bungling in the plan had been outlined by the CAG in its reviews posted before the Bihar set up every season, beginning 2007. According to the review for 2007-08, out of 200 educational institutions test-checked, all had no kitchen reduce though significant money was made available to the regions for the objective.

In 105 out of 200 educational institutions test-checked, the headmasters involved said there was lack of 5 to 15 kg grain in each bag of 50 kg. An review examine of two schools' 17 purses exposed that each bag included a typical of only 32 kg of grain. However, for less invoice of grain, neither the university regulators filed any issue nor the MDM regulators took any activity to examine the exercise, the review said.
