BJP legislator Prasanta Phukan said the cost increase has become so critical that many people were forced to stop buying some foodstuffs. "The costs of meals materials improved so much only because the meals and municipal provide division did not take any practical actions. There is a significant difference between the cost of products at the source of purchase and the marketplaces in the condition. Even within Guwahati, cost of products differ from industry to promote. This reveals that there has been no proper tracking of costs," Phukan said.
The BJP legislator added the use of unlawful syndicates has further angry the matter, saying that these syndicates now determine the cost of foodstuffs. He said that the syndicates can determine costs of products because of the lack of tight action by the govt against them.
"Large variety of oil intended for community submission is being marketed in the underground. Customers hardly get oil through the community submission system in Dibrugarh region though the region gets at least 100 oil tankers," Phukan said, including that even LPG tubes are being marketed in the underground.
Food and municipal provide reverend Nazrul Islam said that the govt has been keeping tight vigil on synthetic deficiency of foodstuffs. Islam managed that costs of foodstuffs are being supervised each month by various govt departments.
